Being an
obsessive planner, the moment Lenny joined my family
I immediately began formulating a play for his 1st
birthday party with a few of his friends. However,
in November 2005, he was hit by a car and lost his
right hind leg. While the trauma had a ripple effect
through my family, friends and co-workers who came
to Lenny’s aid, it was only a leg. His life had been
spared for a reason -- to help other pets in need
and raise awareness of health and safety issues.
I immediately turned Lenny’s intimate birthday party
into a public charity event to help other animals
within our community. I have been humbled and
overwhelmed by the generosity of the animal
community of which Lenny and I are so proud to be a
part. |
